Disposition of mortgages by agent

(1) The authorized agent upon receipt
of the mortgage shall file the same in his office separately and apart from records affecting real
property and personal property, other than manufactured homes, which he may by law be
required to keep. Such mortgage shall be appropriately indexed and cross-indexed:
(a) Under one or more of the following headings in accordance with such rules and
regulations relating thereto as may be adopted by the director:
(I) Manufacturer, manufacturer's number, or serial number of manufactured homes
mortgaged;
(II) The numbers of the certificates of title for manufactured homes mortgaged;
(b) Under the name of the mortgagee, the holder of such mortgage, or the owner of such
mortgaged home; or
(c) Under such other system as the director may devise and determine to be necessary
for the efficient administration of this article.
(2) All records of mortgages affecting manufactured homes shall be public and may be
inspected and copies thereof made, as is provided by law respecting public records affecting real
property.
