Any person, partnership, or corporation who violates any provision
or requirement of this article 55 or any rule or regulation adopted by the state board of stock
inspection commissioners commits a class 2 misdemeanor. It is the duty of the district attorney
of the district in which such offense is committed, upon complaint of any private person, or of a
sanitary or brand inspector, or of the state board of stock inspection commissioners, to prosecute
the same if, after investigation, the district attorney believes a violation has occurred. The state
board of stock inspection commissioners, upon its own initiative, or upon complaint of any
person, through the attorney general may bring an action in the district court of the district where
such offense is committed in the name of the people of this state for an injunction against any
person violating any of the provisions of this article 55 or of any rule or regulation adopted by
the state board of stock inspection commissioners.
