Declarations on packages

(1) Except as otherwise provided in this article,
any commodity in package form shall bear on the outside of the package a definite, plain, and
conspicuous declaration of:
(a) The net quantity of the contents in terms of weight, measure, or count; and
(b) In the case of any package not sold on the premises where packed, the name and
place of business of the manufacturer, packer, or distributor;
(c) The identity of the commodity in the manner specified by rule promulgated pursuant
to this article.
(2) Under paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of this section, the commissioner, by
regulation, shall establish reasonable variations or tolerances to be allowed and also exemptions
as to small packages.
