Conservation district grant fund

(1) There is hereby created in the state
treasury the conservation district grant fund. The fund consists of money appropriated to the
fund pursuant to section 39-29-109.3 (1)(g)(III). Money in the fund is specifically and
continuously appropriated to the department. The department shall grant money in the fund to
conservation districts for the purpose of implementing and maintaining soil and water
conservation efforts. All money credited to the fund and all interest earned on the investment of
money in the fund is part of the fund and shall not be transferred or credited to the general fund
or to any other fund.
(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, by September 1, 2022, and each
September 1 thereafter, the department shall distribute two thousand dollars from the
conservation district grant fund created in subsection (1) of this section to each conservation
district formed pursuant to article 70 of this title 35.
(3) Three days after August 10, 2022, and each July 1 thereafter, the state treasurer shall
transfer the sum of one hundred forty-eight thousand dollars from the general fund to the
conservation district grant fund created in subsection (1) of this section.
