The county of Garfield is established with the legal capacities and
functions of other counties in this state, and with boundaries as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the southeast part of Routt county, or the 107th
degree of west longitude; thence running due west six miles; thence running due south to the
northern line of Pitkin county; thence running due west on the southern line of Summit county to
the Utah line; thence running north on the western line of Summit county to Routt county;
thence running east on the north line of Summit county to the 107th degree of west longitude;
thence south on the 107th degree of west longitude to the starting point.
