(1) The county clerk and recorder
shall keep his or her office at the county seat. The county clerk and recorder shall attend the
sessions of the board of county commissioners either in person or by deputy, keep the county
seal, records, and papers of the board of county commissioners, and keep a record of the
proceedings of the board, as required by law, under the direction of the board of county
commissioners. Records of such proceedings shall be kept in a visual text format that may be
transmitted electronically.
(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1) of this section, the county clerk and
recorder may maintain his or her office at a location other than the county seat when authorized
to do so pursuant to part 1 of article 5 of title 13, C.R.S.
