Appeals. Appellate review of any order of short-term treatment or long-term

care and treatment may be had as provided in the Colorado appellate rules. An appeal must be
advanced upon the calendar of the appellate court and must be decided at the earliest practicable
time. Pending disposition by the appellate court, the court may make such order as the court may
consider proper in the premises relating to the care and custody of the respondent.
