Wood stove testing program established

(1) There is hereby established, in
the department of health, an evaluation and certification program for the control of air pollution
caused by wood stove emissions, which is designed to significantly reduce particulate and
carbon monoxide emissions, referred to in this part 4 as the "program".
(2) The program as implemented by rules and regulations as set forth in section 25-7-403
shall be administered by the air quality control division. The said division shall establish a
program that:
(a) Determines whether or not any new wood stove complies with the emission
performance standards set by the commission when tested by an independent testing laboratory;
(b) If such new wood stove complies with the emission performance standards, certifies
such compliance.
(3) On or after July 1, 1985, a wood stove manufacturer or dealer may request the air
quality control division to evaluate the emissions performance of any new wood stove.
(4) Repealed.
