Office of state archaeologist - purpose

The office of state archaeologist is
established as a section within the society in the department of higher education. The office of
state archaeologist is a type 2 entity, as defined in section 24-1-105. The purpose of the office of
state archaeologist is to coordinate, encourage, and preserve by the use of appropriate means the
full understanding of this state's archaeological resources as the same pertain to humankind's
cultural heritage, the study and understanding of which within the state of Colorado will result in
an ultimate benefit to the citizens of this state.
