Colorado Code § 24-51-1746

Waive appointment of guardian
Open in Lexace · Ask the AI about this section
In the payment of survivor benefits
hereunder, the association may, from time to time, authorize and approve payments directly to a
minor or the parent caring for such minor without requiring the appointment of a duly
constituted guardian for such minor. Likewise, the association may waive the appointment of a
conservator for a beneficiary deemed mentally incompetent or otherwise unable by reason of age
or illness to act without assistance, and may, from time to time, authorize and approve such
payments to the person or institution having care of such beneficiary. The receipt of the person
or institution so receiving such payments shall be a complete release and acquittance under this
retirement plan with respect to such payments in all respects as if such payments had been made
to a duly constituted guardian or conservator.
