Colorado Code § 24-34-1001

Legislative declaration

(1) The general assembly finds and declares that:
(a) Approximately twenty percent of Coloradans live with a disability;
(b) Colorado is committed to protecting the civil rights of persons with disabilities; and
(c) Protection from discrimination and basic access to government services, housing,
employment, and recreation are important for the well-being of Coloradans with disabilities.
(2) Therefore, the general assembly determines it is in the best interests of all
Coloradans, and especially Coloradans living with disabilities, to form several groups to study
and make recommendations for change on issues related to civil rights and basic accessibility for
persons with disabilities.
