(1) Except as provided by subsection (2) or (3) of this section, any installation must be performed in strict accordance with the applicable manufacturer's installation instructions. A copy of the manufacturer's instructions or the standards promulgated by the division must be available at the time of installation and inspection. (2) If, in the exercise of reasonable professional judgment, the installer identifies any reason why strict compliance with the manufacturer's installation instructions would cause harm or would otherwise be unsuited to the particular circumstances, the installer must contact the division about how to proceed. (3) If a manufacturer's installation instructions are not available or applicable to a particular installation, the installation must proceed in compliance with standards promulgated by the division.
