Acceptance of gifts, legacies, and devises - display by state historical society permitted

(1) The state treasurer shall accept gifts, legacies, and devises of money and
other property to the state, in the name of and on behalf of the state, with the approval of the
governor and subject to the disposition thereof by the general assembly in accordance with the
direction of the donor or devisor.
(2) The state treasurer is authorized to loan to the state historical society any items
presented to the governor as gifts to the state that the treasurer has accepted pursuant to
subsection (1) of this section. The state historical society may display the items at the state
museum or at similar or related venues across the state.
