Appointments by the governor - diversity - definition

(1) As used in this
section, "board" means any statewide board, commission, committee, or task force authorized by
the general assembly in which all of its members are appointed by the governor.
(2) Effective January 1, 2022, when making appointments to or filling vacancies of any
board, the governor shall make reasonable efforts, to the extent an application for board
membership is submitted to the governor, to consider appointing members that, along with
meeting the board's specified membership requirements, reflect the geographic and demographic
diversity of the entire state, including members from both rural and urban parts of the state, and
members of diverse political, racial, disability, and cultural groups and of diverse sexual
orientations and genders.
