Notice to public institutions on appointment of guardian or conservator

When any court shall appoint a conservator of the estate of a protected person or a guardian of
an incapacitated person committed to or residing in any public institution of this state, the court
shall notify the superintendent or chief administrative officer of said public institution or, if
unknown, the executive director of the department of human services in writing of the fact of
such appointment, giving the name and address of the conservator or guardian.
