(1) The seventeenth judicial district shall be composed of the county of Adams and the city and county of Broomfield. (2) (a) The number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be eight. (b) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2002, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be nine. (c) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2003, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be ten. (d) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2007, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be eleven. (e) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2008, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be thirteen. (f) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2009, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district shall be fifteen. (g) Subject to available appropriations, effective January 1, 2020, the number of judges for the seventeenth judicial district is sixteen. (3) The seventeenth judicial district shall have jurisdiction over all causes of action accruing and all crimes committed within the city and county of Broomfield on or after November 15, 2001. Prior to November 15, 2001, the judicial districts for the counties, as they existed prior to November 15, 2001, shall have jurisdiction over all causes of action accruing and crimes committed within such counties.
