Legislative declaration

The general assembly hereby finds, determines,
and declares that the practice of respiratory therapy in the state of Colorado affects the public
health, safety, and welfare of its citizens and must be subject to regulation and control to protect
the public from the unqualified practice of respiratory therapy and from unprofessional conduct.
The general assembly further recognizes the practice of respiratory therapy to be a dynamic and
changing art and science that is continually evolving to include new ideas and ever more
sophisticated techniques in patient care.
