(1) In addition to all other powers and duties given to the board by law, the board may: (a) Certify physical therapist assistants to practice; (b) Evaluate the qualifications of applicants for certification, issue and renew the certifications authorized under this part 2, and take the disciplinary actions authorized under this part 2 and section 12-20-404; (c) Conduct hearings in accordance with section 12-20-403 upon charges for discipline of a certified physical therapist assistant and cause the prosecution and enjoinder, in accordance with section 12-20-406, of all persons violating this part 2; (d) Establish fines under section 12-285-129. (2) The board may promulgate rules pursuant to section 12-20-204 to implement, administer, and enforce this part 2. (3) The authority granted to the board by this part 2 does not authorize the board to arbitrate or adjudicate fee disputes between physical therapist assistants or between a physical therapist assistant and another party.
