Professional engineer's seal - rules

(1) Upon receiving a license from the
board, a professional engineer may obtain a crimp type seal, a rubber stamp type seal, or an
electronic type seal of a design approved by the board. The seal must contain the licensed
professional engineer's name and license number and the designation "Colorado licensed
professional engineer". Colorado professional engineers licensed before July 1, 2004, may
continue to use their prior existing seals.
(2) A professional engineer shall use a seal and signature only when the work to which
the seal is applied was prepared under the engineer's responsible charge.
(3) The board shall adopt rules governing use of the seal and the retention, use, and
distribution of sealed documents and copies thereof.
