A patient of an institution under the jurisdiction of the State Department of State Hospitals who participates in a sheltered workshop or vocational rehabilitation program shall not be required to return or remit any earnings received during the patientâs participation to the institution for the cost of care, support, maintenance, and medical attention pursuant to Section 7281.
