The state mental hospitals under the jurisdiction of the State Department of State Hospitals shall comply with the California Food Sanitation Act, Article 1 (commencing with Section 111950) of Chapter 4 of Part 6 of Division 104 of the Health and Safety Code. The state mental hospitals under the jurisdiction of the State Department of State Hospitals shall also comply with the California Retail Food Code (Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 113700) of Part 7 of Division 104 of the Health and Safety Code). Sanitation, health and hygiene standards that have been adopted by a city, county, or city and county that are more strict than those of the California Retail Food Code or the California Food Sanitation Act shall not be applicable to state mental hospitals that are under the jurisdiction of the State Department of State Hospitals.
