As used in this chapter the following terms have the following meanings: (a) âPublic offensesâ means public offenses as that term is defined in the Penal Code. (b) âCourtâ includes any official authorized to impose sentence for a public offense. (c) âYouth Authority,â âAuthority,â âauthority,â or âdivisionâ means the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Facilities. (d) âBoardâ or âboardâ means the Board of Parole Hearings, until January 1, 2007, at which time âboardâ shall refer to the body created to hear juvenile parole matters under the jurisdiction of the Director of the Division of Juvenile Justice in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. (e) The masculine pronoun includes the feminine.
