Counties participating in the central benefit issuance system, pursuant to Section 11006.6, shall pay to the department, at regular intervals as determined by the department, the share of public social services costs otherwise attributable to local government. Failure to pay within the determined intervals shall result in offsetting the appropriate amount from any funds going to the county from the state. Counties shall remit their share of public social services costs directly to the state, in accordance with an agreed upon format with the Controller, for deposit to the Central Benefit Issuance Fund or where deemed appropriate by the department.
