(a) The department shall have responsibility for conducting investigations and audits of claims and reimbursements for expenditures for specialty mental health services provided by mental health plans to Medi-Cal eligible individuals. (b) The amount of the payment or repayment of federal funds in accordance with audit findings pertaining to Medi-Cal specialty mental health services shall be determined by the department pursuant to the existing administrative appeals process of the department.
