(a) This article shall be known, and may be cited, as the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Act. (b) The implementation of CalAIM, as set forth in this article and the CalAIM Terms and Conditions, shall support all of the following goals: (1) Identify and manage the risk and needs of Medi-Cal beneficiaries through whole-person-care approaches and addressing social determinants of health. (2) Transition and transform the Medi-Cal program to a more consistent and seamless system by reducing complexity and increasing flexibility. (3) Improve quality outcomes, reduce health disparities, and drive delivery system transformation and innovation through value-based initiatives, modernization of systems, and payment reform.
