Counties shall continually monitor their program expenditures throughout the fiscal year. If a county determines that its anticipated expenditures will exceed the amount of that yearâs allocations as a result of an unexpected event, including caseload increases, court cases, or significant justifiable increases in component costs, the county shall immediately notify the department.
