(a) County welfare departments and alternative payment programs shall provide to the department and the local planning council, on a monthly basis, data about child care usage and demand in each of the three stages. The department shall forward this data quarterly to the Department of Finance and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee for fiscal planning. (b) By January 10 of each year, the Department of Finance shall present to the respective legislative budget committees an estimate of the cost of funding the expected demand for child care as described in subdivision (a) of Section 10371 and Sections 10372 and 10372.5.
