For the purpose of determining the âreference numberâ of each tract separately assessed upon the assessment lists, the board shall, before preparing the voting lists, cause each tract of land separately assessed upon the assessment lists, unless already done, to be given a separate number designated as the âreference numberâ of the tract. The reference numbers shall be entered upon the assessment lists opposite the several tracts separately assessed.
