The clerk of the board of supervisors shall cause a notice of the time and place of the hearing to be given by publication within the district in accordance with Section 6066 of the Government Code. Such notice shall state the number of existing divisions of the district, the proposed new number of divisions or the proposed new basis for dividing the district, or both, and shall contain a general description of, or map showing, the division boundaries proposed by the board of supervisors and the population of each division.
