The assessment authority conferred pursuant to this chapter shall not extend beyond fiscal year 1976â77 production, and the power to collect production assessments shall cease and terminate after exhaustion of all remedies of the assessing districts as to such 1976â77 production. Nothing in this section shall preclude the commitment or expenditure of assessment proceeds remaining after the termination of such assessment authority.
