Whenever an official traffic control signal exhibiting an approved âWalking Personâ symbol, an approved âUpraised Handâ symbol, or the words âWALKâ or âWAITâ or âDON'T WALKâ is shown concurrently with official traffic control signals exhibiting the words âGOâ or âCAUTIONâ or âSTOPâ or exhibiting different colored lights successively, one at a time or with arrows, a pedestrian facing those traffic control signals shall obey the âWalking Person,â âUpraised Hand,â âWALKâ or âWAITâ or âDON'T WALKâ control signal as provided in Section 21456.
