For purposes of title registration, warranties, rebates, and incentives, in a brokered retail new motor vehicle sale, the selling, franchised new car dealer, and not the autobroker, is responsible to apply for title in the name of the purchaser, to secure vehicle registration and the license plates for the purchaser, to secure the manufacturerâs warranty in the name of the purchaser, and to make all applications for any manufacturerâs rebates and incentives due the purchaser. If there is a manufacturerâs recall, the consumer shall be notified directly by the manufacturer.
