As used in this article: (a) âDemand occupationâ means an occupation in a labor market area in which the director determines work opportunities are available and there is not a surplus of qualified applicants. (b) âLabor market areaâ means a county, or aggregation of counties designated by the department that meets criteria of population, population density, commute patterns, and social and economic integration specified by the department.
