(a) The department, in consultation with the Office of Historic Preservation in the Department of Parks and Recreation, shall design signs and markers for exclusive use on California Historic Parkways that are distinct in color or other easily recognizable features from standard forms of signs on other state highways. (b) The department shall cause appropriate signs and markers to be placed and maintained along those portions of the highways which have been designated as California Historic Parkways. (c) The department shall include all California Historic Parkways on any maps or publications it issues that describe or depict State Scenic Highways.
