âService area,â for purposes of the operations of a telephone corporation, means a local access and transport area as defined and approved by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia circuit in the case of the United States v. Western Electric Co., Inc., and American Telephone and Telegraph Co., CA 82-0192, April 20 and July 8, 1983, and in a Memorandum and Order of August 5, 1983.
