(a) Each member of a commission may be compensated at a rate not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) for any day attending to the business of the commission, but not to exceed four hundred dollars ($400) in any month, and the necessary traveling and personal expenses incurred in the performance of his or her duties as authorized by the commission. Members of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority shall be compensated pursuant to this subdivision. Members of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority shall be compensated pursuant to subdivision (b). (b) Each member of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority shall be compensated at a rate not exceeding one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) for any day attending to the business of the authority, but not to exceed six hundred dollars ($600) per month, and other expenses which are directly related to the performance of duties as authorized by the authority.
