Each member of the board shall receive a per diem compensation for his services for each day, or portion thereof, in which he is in attendance at meetings of the board. The amount of the compensation shall be fixed by the board, but shall not exceed fifty dollars ($50) for each dayâs attendance. In no event shall the total compensation received by any member of the board in any one calendar month exceed the sum of one hundred dollars ($100).
