In this chapter: (a) âAdultâ means an individual who has attained 18 years of age. (b) âConservateeâ means an adult for whom a conservator of the estate, a conservator of the person, or a conservator of the person and estate has been appointed. (c) âConservatorâ means a person appointed by the court to serve as a conservator of the estate, a conservator of the person, or a conservator of the person and estate. (d) âConservator of the estateâ means a person appointed by the court to administer the property of an adult, including, but not limited to, a person appointed for that purpose under subdivision (b) of Section 1801. (e) âConservator of the personâ means a person appointed by the court to make decisions regarding the person of an adult, including, but not limited to, a person appointed for that purpose under subdivision (a) of Section 1801. (f) âConservator of the person and estateâ means a person appointed by the court to make decisions regarding the person of an adult and to administer the property of that adult, including, but not limited to, a person appointed for those purposes under subdivision (c) of Section 1801. (g) âConservatorship orderâ means an order appointing a conservator of the estate, a conservator of the person, or a conservator of the person and estate in a conservatorship proceeding. (h) âConservatorship proceedingâ means a judicial proceeding in which an order for the appointment of a conservator of the estate, a conservator of the person, or a conservator of the person and estate is sought or has been issued. (i) âPartyâ means the conservatee, proposed conservatee, petitioner, conservator, proposed conservator, or any other person allowed by the court to participate in a conservatorship proceeding. (j) âPersonâ means an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, limited liability company, association, joint venture, public corporation, government or governmental subdivision, agency, or instrumentality, or any other legal or commercial entity. (k) âProposed conservateeâ means an adult for whom a conservatorship order is sought. (l) âRecordâ means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form. (m) Notwithstanding Section 74, âstateâ means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, a federally recognized Indian tribe, or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.
