Notwithstanding Sections 5625 and 5626, the County of Los Angeles may convert to a use not authorized under those provisions not more than 9.67 acres of parkland in El Cariso Park, if the county complies with the Public Park Preservation Act of 1971 (Chapter 2.5 (commencing with Section 5400)), and submits to the department a copy of all documents evidencing the countyâs interest in the substitute parkland required under the act.
