As used in this article: (a) âAffordable rental housingâ shall mean a rental housing development, as defined in subdivision (d) of Section 50675.2 of the Health and Safety Code, with affordable rents, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 50675.2 of the Health and Safety Code, but neither definition is restrictive to only projects with five or more units. (b) âExtremely low incomeâ has the same meaning as defined in Section 50106 of the Health and Safety Code. (c) âHomelessâ has the same meaning as defined in Section 578.3 of Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations, as that section read on January 10, 2019. (d) âQualified entityâ means an entity that is responsible for making referrals of qualified tenants to qualified units. (e) âQualified tenantâ means an extremely low income veteran who is homeless. (f) âQualified unitâ means a supportive housing unit restricted to extremely low income veterans pursuant to this article. (g) âSecondary tenantsâ means a veteran who is homeless and has an income of up to 60 percent of the area median income. (h) âSupportive housingâ has the same meaning as defined in subdivision (h) of Section 50675.2 of the Health and Safety Code, but is not restrictive to only projects with five or more units. (i) âTransitional housingâ has the same meaning as defined in subdivision (i) of Section 50675.2 of the Health and Safety Code, but is not restrictive to only projects with five or more units. (j) âVeteranâ means any person who served in the active military, naval, or air service of the United States, or as a member of the National Guard who was called to and released from active duty or active service, for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days or was discharged from the service due to a service-connected disability within that 90-day period.
