The duties of the officers of the Office of the Adjutant General shall be such as are prescribed by law and regulations and shall conform as closely as practicable to the duties prescribed by orders and regulations of the Department of Defense for like officers in the United States Army, United States Air Force and United States Navy. The Assistant Adjutant General shall be a brigadier general and shall receive the same pay and allowances as a brigadier general in the United States Army.
