Every person who maliciously destroys, cuts, breaks, mutilates, effaces, or otherwise injures, tears down, or removes any veteransâ memorial constructed or established pursuant to this division, or constructed or established by any veteransâ association, as defined in subdivision (c) of Section 1260, is guilty of a crime punishable by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 of the Penal Code or by imprisonment in a county jail for less than one year.
