(a) No policy of insurance for residential property located within California shall be issued or delivered, and no existing policy of insurance for residential property located within California shall be renewed, unless the policy complies with the requirements of subdivision (b). (b) If the policy includes any liability insurance, or if a liability insurance policy is issued in connection with the policy, the policy shall cover liability incurred by the insured in connection with the use of the residential property for a polling place for any state or local election, under the same terms and conditions as for other liability covered by the policy.
