(a) Reduced human remains may be disposed of by integration into the topsoil by the person having the right to control the disposition of the remains pursuant to Section 7100. (b) A reduction facility may integrate reduced human remains into the topsoil of a conservation area if the person having the right to control the disposition of those remains has agreed, in writing, to that disposition. (c) Integration of reduced human remains into soil below the topsoil is a violation of Section 7054. (d) For purposes of this section, the following definitions apply: (1) âConservation areaâ means an area of land that is protected and cannot be built on, that is only used for the conservation of nature. (2) âTopsoilâ means the outermost layer of soil. (e) This section shall become operative on January 1, 2027.
