The governing body of any city or county may call upon the residents and existing community organizations within the area of jurisdiction of the governing body to form a community housing advisory committee comprising persons who, for at least six months, have been residents in or owned property in the area of the governing bodyâs jurisdiction, and which is considered representative by the governing body. The members of the community housing advisory committee shall serve without compensation.
