It is the intent of the Legislature to encourage any person who provides child care in a child day care facility licensed pursuant to this chapter, Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 1596.90), or Chapter 3.6 (commencing with Section 1597.30) to have the following elementary health care training: (a) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. (b) Pediatric first aid. (c) Preventive health practices, including food preparation, childhood nutrition, and sanitation practices that support overall health and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
