For purposes of this chapter, the following terms have the following meanings: (a) âCenters for Disease Control and Preventionâ or âCDCâ means the national public health agency of the United States. It is a United States federal agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. (b) âDepartmentâ means the State Department of Public Health. (c) âLocal health departmentâ has the same meaning as defined in Section 101185. (d) âSpecified entityâ means a general acute care hospital, as defined in Section 1250, with an emergency department, as defined in Section 128700.
