For purposes of this chapter, the following terms have the following meanings: (a) “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” or “CDC” means the national public health agency of the United States. It is a United States federal agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. (b) “Department” means the State Department of Public Health. (c) “Local health department” has the same meaning as defined in Section 101185. (d) “Specified entity” means a general acute care hospital, as defined in Section 1250, with an emergency department, as defined in Section 128700.
