It is the intent of the Legislature to accomplish the following: (a) Assure an adequate supply of appropriately trained professional nurses. (b) Encourage persons from populations that are currently underrepresented in the nursing profession to enter that profession. (c) Encourage professional nurses to work in medically underserved areas.
