(a) Except as provided in subdivision (b), all health facilities, as defined in Section 1250, and all primary care clinics that are either licensed under Section 1204 or exempt from licensure under Section 1206, shall include a patient’s principal spoken language on the patient’s health records. (b) Any long-term health care facility, as defined in Section 1418, that already completes the minimum data set form as specified in Section 14110.15 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, including documentation of a patient’s principal spoken language, shall be deemed to be in compliance with subdivision (a).
