(a) As of the effective date of the act adding this chapter, testing requirements for contaminant levels shall be the same as those for cannabis, as established in paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of Section 26100 of the Business and Professions Code and regulations adopted pursuant thereto. (b) The department may adjust the specific contaminant levels for industrial hemp by regulation to protect consumers.
